Walking the Way to Health is a new initiative which aims to help people get back into walking who may not have taken part in exercise for some time. There are now several free walk schemes, funded by the Countryside Agency and supported by the British Heart Foundation, that are helping thousands of people do just that. And now local schemes mean everyone can take regular walks with a trained walk leader in a safe environment around a nearby park or open space.

A Step Forward
-
A pack of 12 walks in Ashfield, Mansfield and Newark & Sherwood for those
who may not wish to walk in a group. A Step Forward has been produced using
the same criteria as the Break Free packs and each walk shows the surface and
gradient of paths, facilities available and location of stiles, gates and steps.
Certain sections of each route allow walkers to walk a little faster in order
to increase their heart rate.
There are plenty of walks, cycle paths and horse riding trails to help you explore the beautiful and scenic countryside in Greenwood.
